Michael Bloomquist, PhD, LP
Chief Clinical Scientist, Psychologist
Dr. Michael Bloomquist leads development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programming for youth, families, and adults at Praestan Health. He is also concurrently a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. Over many years Dr. Bloomquist has accumulated extensive experience in program development, research, service provision, and supervision in children’s mental health including publishing peer-reviewed journal articles and books about youth mental health, effective intervention methods, and evidence-based practice. His practice emphasizes personalized psychotherapy and parent and family skills training for youth.
Dan Dondelinger, BA, RHIT, CHTS-TR – Patient Support Specialist
Dan Dondelinger is one of Praestan Health’s Patient Support Specialists and part of the data analytics team. Before Praestan, Dan worked in various roles related to health information, for organizations such as the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Wolters Kluwer, and HealthEast. Dan enjoys spending time with his daughter, doing volunteer work, reading, and bicycling.
Elena Geiger-Simpson, DNP, APRN, CNP, PMHNP-BC – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Elena Geiger-Simpson received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Minnesota in 2017. Additionally, she received a Graduate Certificate in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Praesten Health, she worked in a variety of community mental health settings. Dr. Geiger-Simpson also works as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She is passionate about providing a person-centered, strengths-based approach while working alongside her patients as they strive towards achieving their optimal wellbeing. Dr. Geiger-Simpson integrates a variety of approaches to healing including medication, mind/body connection, cognitive behavioral techniques, nutrition, and movement. Dr. Geiger-Simpson spends her free time enjoying hiking with her dog, spending time in nature, biking around the Twin Cities, and having potlucks with friends and family.
Jill Hubble, LPCC, LADC – Program Manager
Jill Hubble has worked with individuals and families who have experienced a wide variety of mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders. She has worked in hospital inpatient, residential, outpatient, and school-based settings as well as private practice. Jill is also a Counselor Educator and public speaker focusing on Trauma Informed Care and treating Co-Occurring Disorders in adolescents and adults. Jill works from a harm reduction holistic approach that addresses each patient’s unique needs. She is passionate about creating a trauma informed, safe, person-centered space for individuals and families to work through life struggles. Her areas of expertise are in the treatment of trauma, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, education, and collaboration with other providers. Jill enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as traveling, and photography.
Flower Krutina – Chief of Staff
Flower joined the Praestan team in 2016 as the Executive Assistant to Dr. Read Sulik, Praestan’s CEO, and administrative support lead to the Executive Team. She now serves as Praestan’s Chief of Staff. Prior to joining Praestan, Flower spent time working in healthcare with a primary focus in behavioral health. She then spent time at a technology startup, adding to her skill set and experience. Flower supports the leadership team with strategic project management and also oversees the administrative team to help ensure the success of Praestan’s administrative functions and success. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods and restaurants, and salsa dancing.
Lauren Lach – Patient Support Specialist
Lauren graduated from Concordia University Saint Paul in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She has previous experience as a volunteer phone counselor at Crisis Connection. As a Patient Support Specialist, Lauren coordinates patient care and provides support to patients at Pipe Trade Services Family Health and Wellness Centers. Lauren is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University. She enjoys creative writing and going to Valleyfair with family and friends.
Jessica McLawhorn – Project Manager
Jessica joined Praestan in 2016 and serves as Project Manager supporting software and business development. Prior to her role as Project Manager, Jessica worked in care coordinator roles within behavioral healthcare clinic and insurance settings. Jessica received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Wisconsin River Falls and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University. In her free time, Jessica enjoys cooking, home projects and spending quality time with her family.
Cassandra Misgen – Administrative Coordinator
Cassie joined Praestan Health in 2017 and supports the company’s executive and administrative teams. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Political Science and Gender, Women, & Sexuality Studies in 2015. Cassie has also studied public policy at the graduate level as a non-degree seeking student. Before joining the Praestan team, Cassie worked in administration for a large educational institution in Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her cats, enjoying music in all its forms, and being politically active in causes that she’s passionate about.
L. Read Sulik, MD, FAAP, DFAACAP
Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Sulik is a dedicated, compassionate and caring physician and a transformational health care leader committed to the vision, design, development and delivery of the innovations needed to truly improve health for all age individuals, families and communities. As a pediatrician, child and adolescent psychiatrist, and adult psychiatrist, he recognizes the complexities of health and wellness, and how behavioral health needs create significant barriers for individuals to actively engage in their own health care while contributing to poor and costly outcomes in chronic health conditions.
Theresa Voss, M.A., L.P. – Coach Therapist
Theresa is a licensed psychologist with almost 25 years of private practice experience. Areas of interest for Theresa include mental illness, developmental disabilities, behavioral disorders, trauma, life/work stress, and cross-cultural counseling. Theresa believes that the therapist/patient relationship is a partnership and employs a mixture of CBT, person-centered, and solution-oriented therapies to assist in achieving shared goals. She has become a true believer that attention to holistic wellness is essential to one’s mental health and is excited to be able to offer the Praestan Health and Wellness platform to her patients. In her free time, Theresa likes to read, dance (Cuban rueda salsa), attend theater/concerts, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
Desmond Walker, MBA – Data Management Specialist
Desmond is serving in the role of Praestan Health’s Data Management Specialist. Desmond received his Master degree from the University of Concordia – St. Paul emphasizing Healthcare Management. Prior to joining Praestan, Desmond worked as a Quality Improvement Specialist and Lead Internal Auditor for North Memorial Health. Desmond enjoys reading books related to history, civil rights, data analytics and coaching. Desmond has 15+ years experience coaching high school football, boys high school basketball and girls competitive AAU basketball.
